What We Like: Jaquet Droz Petite Heure Minute Thousand Year Lights

Why We Like It: Revered watchmaker Jaquet Droz has unveiled the Petite Heure Minute Thousand Year Lights, an elegant timepiece that celebrates the beauty of flowers and women. It is made using a unique lacquer work technique that comes from the Goryeo dynasty and represents the watchmaker’s historic expertise.

Unusual for a women’s watch, the makers of Petite Heure Minute Thousand Year Lights have used black lacquer on its dial. The makers have used lacquer as a representation of the night sky. To further enhance the dial, experts at Jaquet Droz envisioned a landscape and hand-painted delicate flowers using mother-of pearl. The end result of this artistic process can be seen on the dial that features a beautiful picture of flowers and petals swaying with the wind.

The watch is finished with black or deep blue-coloured alligator leather strap and boasts of a 68-hour power reserve.

The Petite Heure Minute Thousand Year Lights comes with two case sizes of 35 and 39mm and five versions to choose from. Each version (including the one we mentioned) is limited to 28 pieces and can be ordered with or without diamonds studded on it.
