Insider: Breitling for Bentley GMT B04 S Carbon Body. Hands-on with the First Bentley Piece We Really Like.

Breitling actually debuted these new Superocean Heritage hands on the back of the the quirky limited edition Breitling Superocean Heritage Chronoworks at 2016 (hands on here). The hour hand arrow includes a line which bisects it (seemingly for no purpose since the hands are already identifying appearing), and now the second hand rather radically tapers. Again, this can be much more in line with the expression of the genuine heritage Superocean view, but I feel the contemporary Superocean Heritage I did the palms a bit better. Not only were the outgoing hands easier on the eyes in terms of simplicity, but I believed that they were more proportionate to the general look of the dial. Now the minute hand seems just a bit too skinny the majority of the time except at the tip – along with the strange angles at the bottom of the arrow hour hand remove from the first’s strength and temperament. The new hands are definitely more distinctive, and it’s entirely possible that they’ll grow on me, but at first glance, this is the 1 part of this Superocean Heritage that I thought was a bit better on the first generation model. The shortage of a steel ring around the inner portion of the rotating bezel further makes the Superocean Heritage II seem different from the initial version. This isn’t an improvement or update, so much as it’s a new look for the modern classic classic in contemporary vintage-style sports watches. The absence of an interior steel ring signifies the color from the bezel can blend in with all the dial a bit more easily, which makes the most effect on the black-dialed models of the Superocean Heritage II.
Although I enjoy the dial layout, I’ve never been overly in love with this current generation styling of the hands. I miss the higher-contrast and so easier to read hands of some prior creation Breitling Watches Under 1000 watches. These new hands are nice, but just not as daring as I’d like in a watch like this. One of those interesting little details about the dial is the simple fact that the 12 o’clock hour mark is actually a little light. It frequently pulses softly, and I think it’s mostly used as a low-battery indicator. With its own massive titanium instance (either natural ceramic or PVD-coated black) is a domed sapphire crystal that has double AR-coating on either side (thank you!) . The Emergency II is also water-resistant to 500m. This is a useful monster of a “sport” watch if there ever was one, and there isn’t anything else out there really like it.If sporting comfort is particularly important with you, and you have smaller wrists, then the rubberized strap is likely to be the best alternative. The fitting titanium bracelet looks great, but I recommend it just for those with thick wrists, or who intend to wear it on a jacket. If I might have it my way, even the Breitling Emergency II are more accessibly-priced and smaller. The latter is likely a challenging thing to do given the tech inside of this watch, which is made as little as they could in the time that the watch was developed. I can’t comment on cost, but I know that the work necessary to create this timepiece happen wasn’t insignificant, and it isn’t as if there are plenty of competitions. Though, if you merely require a PLB device, there are obviously, cheaper choices.
The brownish Superocean Heritage II is the newest colour tone that adds the trendy “chocolate” colour into the collection. There aren’t too many “brown divers” on the marketplace at this point – so here is one for those who have been hunting for this particular appearance. The blue version can be compelling, although the two-tone black bezel with silver dial has its charm. That said, I continue to believe that the black-colored Superocean Heritage II will continue to be the top-selling model. When in regards to bracelet and strap choices, Breitling enables you to think rather hard when determining what to pair your Superocean Heritage I or II with. This was really the first modern luxury opinion to popularize the mesh metal “Milanese” bracelet, which has been one of those options that accompanies this Superocean Heritage II. I truly wish Breitling could figure out a way to eliminate the gap between the case and where metal bracelet attaches into the lugs. While I could be wrong, I believe that some sort of end-link system might be welcome here – at least for those of us who don’t always like the gaps between the strap/bracelet and also the case.Breitling additionally offers up at least one leather strap along with a couple of rubber strap options for the Superocean Heritage II. 1 rubber strap mimics the look of the mesh alloy. It looks cheesy until you place it on, and after that it looks interesting. For me the most important part of deciding on the best strap to go with the Superocean Heritage II is in considering your own lifestyle. If you’re going to utilize it more with formal attire, the leather strap is a good choice. People who are searching for the most external lifestyle statement needing a timepiece which can call attention should certainly consider the mesh metal steel bracelet – which comes on Breitling’s very pleasant folding deployant buckle.

Sexy and completely a luxury timepiece with a sporty character, the Breitling Watch Verification Emergency II is admittedly extremely trendy. No one can deny this. I really don’t feel that I’ll see as many on routine people’s wrists as I did the original Emergency, but with its more practical character and capacity to become more practical as a PLB, I trust that the proper people, traveling into the right places have access to a watch such as this. The additional Breitling Emergency II model I reviewed was the ref. REF. V76325A5 It retails for $18,975 USD, while the mother of pearl version retails for $19,425 USD. The starting cost for the Breitling Emergency II is $15,685 USD, which goes up to $16,475 USD about the matching bracelet. The Emergency II collection currently tops out at $19,800 USD for its design in black titanium using the green mother-of-pearl dial.Breitling for a brand is possibly best known for their big, masculine chronographs in aviation and diving fashions, and no watch illustrates manliness quite enjoy the Super Avenger. Limited editions of the Super Avenger have been made previously, such as the army 24-hour version we covered here. Nonetheless, this is the first time this watch has obtained the boutique variant treatment and the accession of this brand’s first in-house fabrication chronograph caliber, the Breitling 01.

We have never been big fans of the Breitling for Bentley timepieces, however, when it comes to the new Bentley GMT B04 S Carbon Body just released at Baselworld 2016 less than a month ago, we have to say that we really like this watch. While the dial still seems quite busy as all other Breitling for Bentley models, there’s something special about this piece that draw our attention to it. Could it be the GMT complication, the red accents on the dial, or perhaps the fact that this case is unlike any other case presented by Breitling before and somewhat similar to the carbon cases used on the Linde Werdelin Oktopus Double Date Carbon Green we reviewed here, or even to those on a few Richard Mille NTPT watches —with the utmost respect to the latter as we are not trying to draw any comparisons here. All we know, is that this is a sexy watch all around. Available in a limited edition of 250 pieces, the new Breitling for Bentley GMT B04 S Carbon Body features features a strikingly original and daring design based on asymmetrical lugs and integrated pushers following the shape of the case and an exclusive black rubber strap.

For this new watch, Breitling has chosen a cutting-edge technology already used on the chassis of Formula 1 racing cars as well as in aviation and racing boats, but used by only a few companies when it comes to watches. Fitted with a 45 mm Carbon case, the compound used by Breitling is composed of tiny carbon fibers —just 30 microns in diameter— that are woven into several hundreds of layers placed at a 45-degree angle between each successive layers, and then bonded by heat-set resin. The result, a distinctive matte black case very similar in looks and feel to those we’ve seen on Linde Werdelin carbon pieces. Perhaps the biggest and most obvious difference, is that on the Breitling the fibers are woven vertically opposed to horizontally on Linde Werdelin watches. The pushers are also made of carbon to follow the silhouette of the case and the screw-down crown is wrapped with a carbon ring.

The dial for the very first time is really legible and not as crowded as on other Breitling for Bentley timepieces. The black dial is also made of carbon fiber with a visible weave in the usual checkered pattern carbon fiber look. Enhanced by red-rimmed counters reminiscent of racing car instrument panels, this watch is ultra sporty and very automotive looking. Featuring a second time zone and chronograph, the black hour hand keeps track of local time, and is quickly and easily adjusted by rotating the crown forwards or backwards while ensuring automatic adjustment of the date in both directions. Meanwhile, the red hand keeps track of home time in 24-hour mode. An additional user friendly feature takes the form of a rotating inner bezel bearing the names of 24 cities and serving to show the time at a glance in every timezone compared to the time shown by the 24-hour hand. The dial layout features running seconds register at 9, 12-hour chrono register at 6, 30-minute chrono register at 3 and a date aperture between 4 and 5 o’clock. The knurled bezel completes the sporty look of this new Breitling for Bentley GMT B04 S Carbon Body.

Fitted with a special black rubber strap —referred to by Breitling as GMT Rubber—, the strap is equipped with a nice deployant buckle that is satin brushed finished. The strap is really nicely constructed and with a nice firm but malleable texture to it. One thing we did notice, is that the rubber used on this strap seems to be a crazy lint magnet, something that OCD guys like us will definitely hate.

The exceptional functionality of the new Breitling Bentley GMT B04 S Carbon Body is powered by the in-house Breitling Calibre B04 protected by two patents and chronometer-certified
by the COSC —Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute. The movement beating at a frequency of 28,800 vph features 47 jewels and provides a power reserve of 70 hours when fully wound. The watch is fitted with a solid case back and is water resistant to a 100 meters.

On the wrist, the watch wears true to its size and extremely light. The wrist presence is definitely very extremely sporty and rugged. Another watch setting the trends we saw at Baselworld 2016 with all black watches and special material cases. Yet another one of the best looking all black watches this year at Baselworld 2016. This is a watch that for sure will sell out very quickly considering its exclusive limitation to 250 pieces only.
