CH Premier is excited to be partnering with Swiss watchmaker A Marca Blancpain in bringing the Blancpain Ocean Commitment Exhibition to Westfield Valley Fair, Santa Clara from April 29 to May 17. This will be the next revealing in North America following Las Vegas at January.For the length of the exhibition, CH Premier will soon be featuring a broad assortment of Fifty Fathom timepieces. This group embodies Blancpain’s enthusiasm for the underwater world since 1953 by making the first modern dive watch. Each Fifty Fathom version features the signature elements from the original diver’s view and layout options based on the risks and necessities in the diving world. Latest editions added to the group pay tribute to the pioneers of diving, whose enthusiasm and devotion has continued to inspire Blancpain to create timepieces with technological progress and innovative materials for underwater explorations.On May 5, 2016, CH Premier and also Blancpain will be hosting an evening cocktail reception and talking engagement with Blancpain US Brand President, David Gely, at which he will speak about the brand’s longstanding connection with the underwater world and its own commitment to protecting and preserving the planet’s oceans.We invite visitors of all ages to explore and discover the underwater world through stunning images and learn about the environmental initiatives Blancpain supports to explore, protect, and conserve the world’s ocean. Limited to 250 pieces, this special timepiece includes Blancpain’s in-house motion and a special gray ceramic case and blue dial and bezel. Blancpain will earn a charitable donation in the amount of 1,000 Euros for every watch sold in the limited series.
The latest in a series of watches conceived to support conservation, the Aquatimer Chronograph Edition “Sharks” is a monochromatic take on the IWC diver’s stopwatch.
The dial is several shades of grey with a metallic finish, while the 44mm case is stainless steel. Rated to 300m, the case features IWC’s elaborate SafeDive bezel, which is an inner rotating elapsed time bezel operated by an outer bezel, connected by gears hidden underneath the steel cap on the case at nine o’clock.
Hammerhead shark silhouettes are cast in relief on the back, which hides the cal. 89365 inside. It’s an in-house, automatic movement with a flyback function and 68-hour power reserve.
The Aquatimer “Sharks” is packaged with a limited edition coffee table book appropriately titled Sharks. Containing images of sharks captured by Michael Muller, the book is signed by Muller and packaged in a metal cage inspired by those used to protect photographers against sharks.
