Zenith Watches Hosts a Pocket Watch Exhibition

  • A Zenith Watch Accompanied Daredevil Felix Baumgartner on his Aeronautical Exploit

Tomorrow (23rd September), Zenith Watches will host an exhibition of an antique pocket watch in Delhi, one similar to what the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi,  carried. The exhibition will coincide with the launch of the brand’s two new collections in India—the Pilot and the El Primero collection.

In 1947, Indira Gandhi had gifted a pocket watch to Mahatma Gandhi, and the watch to be showcased is exactly the same model used by him. “Zenith boasts of a legacy of more than 150 years in the watch making industry and we are trying to showcase it through this exhibition,” says Ashok Goel, Brand Head for Zenith Watches in India.Only three of these watches remain today, two of which are owned by the Zenith museum and one belongs to an Indian collector.

Taking pride in Zenith’s pedigree, Goel shares the company’s main aim towards this display, which is celebrating and appreciating times gone by. He says, “It is about cherishing what you have. We want our customers to experience our history and become a part of it.”

Gandhi's Time

The exhibition will take place at Johnson Watch Co. located at the Connaught Place in Delhi on with a few highlight watches—a latest bronze Zenith Pilot watch and the El Primero Cohiba chronograph.
